World Wetlands Day
February 2, 2023
World Wetlands Day is observed on February 2nd each year to recognize and celebrate the importance of wetlands to the world, and the diversity of life that they support.
Did you know?
- Wetlands naturally filter water, remove pollutants, and boost the local water supply.
- They act as a sponge against excess rainfall and flooding, buffer coastal storm surges, and can shield communities in extreme weather.
- Wetlands are home to approximately 40% of the world’s species.
With wetlands disappearing at a rate three times faster than forests, Volm Companies recognizes the importance of minimizing their environmental impact. Therefore, in recognition of World Wetlands Day, we are excited to announce that all U.S. Volm locations have reached bronze status with the Green Business Bureau.
